Edmonton, AB – For the second consecutive year, all RE/MAX Sales Associates in the Edmonton area are united to help sick and injured children by each pledging a financial donation on behalf of each property bought or sold to the Children’s Miracle Network and its member hospital, Stollery Children’s Hospital Foundation. On February 13th, Mayor Stephan Mandel will proclaim this day “Miracle City Day” in recognition of the Edmonton RE/MAX Associates commitment to raising funds for this worthy cause. On Saturday morning between 8:30 and 9:30 am, Mayor Stephen Mandel will be announcing the proclamation of “Miracle City Day” at the annual Children’s Miracle Network “Breakfast of Champions” auction fundraiser hosted by RE/MAX of Western Canada at the Shaw Conference Centre.
“Becoming a Miracle City is an incredible accomplishment and to have a day dedicated to the recognition of our Associates is a tremendous honour,” said Marie Sheppy, Senior Coordinator, Corporate Affairs and Children’s Miracle Network Liaison for RE/MAX of Western Canada. “Every new Sales Associate must sign up to participate in the program when joining RE/MAX to keep our program true to the Miracle City status, which is renewed annually.”
The dedication of RE/MAX Sales Associates have helped raise over $3.5 million for the Children’s Miracle Network 14 member hospitals and foundations across Canada in 2009. Since 1992, Canadian RE/MAX Sales Associates have collectively raised over $35.5 million in total. Over 2.6 million children are treated each year in Canada at a children’s hospital. It is because of these numbers and the dedication of the Edmonton and area RE/MAX associates that Mayor Mandel wishes to honour these efforts with the proclamation.
The Children’s Miracle Network is an international non-profit organization dedicated to raising funds and awareness programs for the benefit of children served by its associated hospitals, health centres, and foundations.
