Our Maple Leaf
The reasons it’s red more than the beautiful tree which still grows from coast to coast
From the Maritime woods and middle Canada across Rocky Mountains to BC’s shores
Our Maple Leaf flag has covered us on almost every continent and every nation
Guiding us to freedom while others followed
Our Maple Leaf
Our Canadians have waved it, slept under it, and been buried with it
From Olympic podiums
Hung from sailboats
Battleships
And the front porches
Of the people who love her
Our Maple Leaf
Our reverence is for what it stands for
For the people who made it great
From the original indigenous peoples
To those who are yet to come
Our Maple Leaf
We stand on guard for thee
WE ARE CANADA WITH OUR MAPLE LEAF
